Traffic speed monitoring July – August 2017

Somerset County Council placed a Speed Indicator Device (SID) within the 30 mph zone opposite Hill Farm Cottages between 18th July and 3rd August 2017 as part of the traffic monitoring requested by the Parish Council.

These devices provide a visual warning to vehicles exceeding the speed limit and also record the actual speed at which the vehicle was travelling when it triggered the sensor beam.

Many residents will know that Somerset County Council placed a Speed Indicator Device (SID) within the 30 mph zone on the Welham side of the village between 11th October and 1st November 2016 as part of the traffic monitoring requested by the Parish Council.

These devices provide a visual warning to vehicles exceeding the speed limit and also record the actual speed at which the vehicle was travelling when it triggered the sensor beam.
