These pages have been created to provide information and support for the residents of our small rural community during the health emergency caused by the spread of Covid-19.
For those self-isolating due to possible or actual infection, or because they are in the category of high vulnerability, there are a number of volunteers willing to help with shopping, collecting medical prescription etc. Details on how to access them on the Volunteer Co-ordinators page.
Lists of local shop and other businesses offering home deliveries will be added, together with establishments delivering take away meals. A summary of hygiene advice distilled from Public Health Authorities in both the UK and around the world, to help us all avoid infection, is included here.
A separate Covid-19 Forum has been set up for anyone wanting to share news relating to the current situation or pass on information to the community.
For those who enjoy online socialising, Susan Elderkin has created a Shepton Montague neighbourhood on Nextdoor.co.uk. It’s very like Facebook, but limited to a geographic community, with locally focused features. Could be a great way to keep in touch, share stories and maybe ‘meet’ neighbours from the far corners of our widespread parish.
The Parish Council is also looking at acting as a point of contact to co-ordinate help and more details will be provided when available.
Covid-19 is highly contagious. Please take every precaution to keep yourself and others safe. Wash your hands regularly and keep 2m distance from other people. Please follow the Government and NHS advice on www.nhs.uk
